  1. I really like the premise for your research and think you have a great plan here. In your interviews with staff and students, are you planning to use individual interviews or focus groups? Or maybe both? I know that you can get more information quickly with focus groups, but sometimes you get more specific information with an (or several) individual interviews.

  2. Your action plan is great. It is a wonderful topic for inquiry. The only thing that I could possibly recommend to your plan, is sending out a survey to teachers on their involvment with tutoring students during this advisory. During an interview they may just tell you what you want to hear. A survey may reveal more truthful answers. I teach 1st grade so advisory is new to me. I remember it back in the day when I was in high school and I never remember the teacher getting out from behind her desk to help students during that time.

  3. The only thing that I would do it a survey. Especially with the students, you are going to get more of a real response. I believe that this is something that needs to be looked at on a lot of high school campus'. All I hear from the kids is it is a waste of time. I know that our high school is not going to have one this year.
